Las Ventanas Apartments Houston

The musical Rent opened at the Westchester Broadway Theater in Elmsford, NY on August 19, 2010 and runs until September 25. The show is a modern-day rock opera based on Puccini's La Bohème; with a theme of community set in the 1990s about squatters, young love, starving artists and AIDS sweeping the Arts community in Greenwich Village in New York City. It is directed/choreographed by the multi-talented, multi-faceted Ardsley, New York resident; Patti Wilcox.

Patti Wilcox-Director/Choreographer-Rent

Wilcox is a freelance director and choreographer. Her directorial and dancing talents took her all the way to New York at 25-years-old from her hometown of Decatur, Illinois. She graduated from Southern Illinois State University with no show-biz background. She had little money in her pocket, no apartment at the time and no prospects. Her parents convinced her that she could do anything she wanted.

"Rent was a hit on Broadway, (and a movie) and I think it speaks to younger people and I think there's always a desire to get a younger audience and I think it's about giving a variety to the people that attend," she says.
