Short Let Apartment In London
London is a huge city, and for first-time visitors it is daunting to know where to start if here for only a few days. However, as with most cities, the ritzy central parts are within walking distance of each other. Walking is the best way to get a feel for a place and London is a joy to walk around because it's seldom too hot and it's always easy to hop on a bus or dive into an underground station should legs start to tire.
Use Oxford Street as Anchor Point
Let's assume the visitor is staying in central London, which means the West End, so take Oxford Circus as the reference point from which all journeys begin. (A lot of university students when they first come to London gauge everything from this point and it helps them learn and visualise they lay-out of the central areas of the capital.)
Oxford Circus is a big junction with an underground station between London's two most famous shopping streets, Oxford Street and Regent Street. All the big names stores are here ... Selfridges is on Oxford Street while Liberty is on Regent Street as is the giant toy shop Hamleys. If only in the capital for a few days, and shopping is on the agenda, it makes sense to limit yourself to these streets if you have only half a day for shopping.
